We love The Community Shop at St John’s because it has a nice variety of wares, parking is easy and prices are excellent. The staff always greets you with a smile! With the new found popularity of thrifting many shops have become like gift shops with every item staged. It looks lovely but spoils the fun of searching. This shop has the distinction of being a shop where they curate some items but not so much that it spoils the search. They do this well because they were doing it before it was a trend. It is very clean and the main room is bright. Check out some unique items at the entry then follow the hall to wind around to - a paper & card area, books galore, jewelry, glassware, scarves, clothing and much more. Thrifting for work clothes? This is the perfect place to do it. You will find lots of Talbots, some with tags and all at great prices. With steady traffic and a high turnover you can shop here weekly.

What did we see? Beautiful clothing, boots, vintage linens and a super fun vintage scarf clasp!

The Community Shop at St. John's Episcopal Church is easy to get to, because it is located on scenic route 127, (705 Hale Street, Beverly Farms, MA) not far from Endicott College and no matter which direction you travel off of route 128 you will get a peek at the ocean. Parking is easy and plentiful in their large church lot. St John’s is also within walking distance of the train, walk through downtown to find the church on the left. There is a lovely book shop nearby and a variety of good places to eat. Open Thursday 10 - 1 and Saturdays 10 – 2. No bathroom onsite but Dunkin Donuts is around the corner. From a supporter "We were so happy yesterday when a young man walked out of the shop with new linen pants from Brooks Brothers for $6.00! All proceeds go to local charities, all staff are volunteers. Cash or checks, but ATMs nearby."
