Will you find the things you collect? Some thrift days you end with a winning smile. Other times it's just familiar thrift items that make you smile - an acknowledgment of other collectors - you nod at Pyrex, smile at Pfaltzgraff and wink at frog figurines. It's fun to check the pieces and prices, it's comfort thrifting, no decisions need to be made. You can message a sibling with a "remember this?" photo. Visiting The Thrift Shop at Belleville Church, 300 High St. Newburyport, was like that this weekend. There was Pfaltzgraff and among the pieces were ramekins. I don't often see those and thought - someone will be happy to find those :) Belleville advertises they carry "good previously owned clothes and miscellaneous items at bargain prices!" and they do. At the entrance was an abundant display of jeans and a "Fill a bag for $5" sign. It was easy to fill a bag with sweaters from Talbots, Loft and LL Bean, a Belgian lace handkerchief was rescued, and there was affordable Longaberger. The people working were kind and helpful. Open Wed & Sat 9 – noon, easy parking on the street, cash or check only. They also gladly accept donations, check out what's accepted at bellevillechurch.org/thrift
